Speaker: Dougald Hine

Dougald Hine is a social thinker with a history of bringing ideas to life. He is founder of Spacemakers, the civic ideas agency, and co-founder of School of Everything and the Dark Mountain Project. His latest book, 'The Crossing of Two Lines', a collaboration with the Stockholm-based artist duo Performing Pictures, is published by Elemental Editions in October 2013. He left London in 2012 and has ended up in Västerås.

Dougald Hine is a writer, educator and platform-maker, and the instigator of initiatives including the Dark Mountain Project, the utopian regeneration agency Spacemakers, and School of Everything. The focus of his work is on finding stories to help us make sense of the times in which we live and creating spaces to which we can bring more parts of ourselves than it is safe to do in many of the workplaces and institutions that dominate
our societies. Originally from the north-east of England, he now lives in Västerås, Sweden and has worked in recent years with Riksteatern, Uppsala University's Centre for Environmental and Development Studies, and the Kaospilots school in Aarhus.
