Speaker: Maya Indira Ganesh

Maya Ganesh is a feminist researcher, writer, and information-activist from India based in Berlin. Starting in 1996, Maya has worked with feminist movements and organisations on violence prevention, and gender and sexuality rights activism. She supported legal advocacy on gender justice projects, and with litigators in the landmark Vishakha v State of Rajasthan & Others case. She has also worked with designers, photographers, and film-makers on creative media advocacy projects for UNICEF, the Tata Institute for Social Sciences, The Hunger Project, Friends of Women's World Banking, Point of View. Between 2009-2011, she worked on one of the first studies of online harassment with partners of the APC Women's Rights Program. She has worked with Tactical Technology Collective since 2009, and is Director of Applied Research there. She has Masters degrees in Applied Psychology (University of Delhi) and in Media and Cultural Studies (University of Sussex). She is a doctoral candidate at Leuphana University, Lüneburg, investigating ethics in big data with a focus on the case of driverless cars. More at bodyofwork.in and @mayameme
